Hoada Campsite
Hoada Campsite is the perfect stopover for exploring the north-western reaches of Namibia. The area is home to a large variety of flora, wildlife and geological wonders. Beautiful, private campsites with its famous rock pool and bar. Rough it out in style at Hoada Campsite and also join a guided walk to learn about Damara Farmlife.
Staying with us
The camp provides 8 campsites, with 6 suitable for up to 8 persons and 2 designed for larger groups. The smaller campsites can accommodate up to 4 tents or 2 vehicles with rooftop tents, while the larger campsites can accommodate up to 14 campers and feature separate male and female ablution facilities.
Each campsite is equipped with a kitchen area that includes a washbasin and running water while the braai area also serves as a geyser, providing hot water for the ablution facilities as you cook your meals. The presence of large granite boulders offers protection from the wind and creates natural partitions between the campsites, adding to the picturesque setting of your stay.
Our four permanent tents are furnished with beds and bedding, bedside tables, a bench, and a private ablution facility located behind each tent. It's the ideal option for a break from setting up your own campsite.
At this haven in the wilderness, you can enjoy a drink at the bar while savouring the view of the surrounding bushveld, and perhaps taking a dip in the small pool nestled in the rocks, before making your dinner beneath a star-studded sky.

Adventures
The vicinity is brimming with activities and attractions, both nearby and in more distant locations. Visitors at the Hoada Campsite are also encouraged to inquire about and reserve activities at Grootberg Lodge on check-in, which is situated just a short distance away.
The region is teeming with wildlife that roams freely, although it is important to note that sightings cannot be guaranteed. However, be sure to remain observant for the desert-adapted elephant, rhino, and lion, which may grace you with their presence. Moreover, the area is inhabited by a diverse array of smaller game and reptiles, including jackals, baboons, and the elusive klipspringers or dassies (rock hyrax). We kindly request you to securely pack away your food and belongings whenever you leave to avoid any unexpected encounters with the mischievous baboons.
While you are in the area, a drive along the breathtaking Grootberg Pass is highly recommended. Additionally, a visit to the ancient rock paintings at Twyfelfontein, just two hours to the south is a must-see should you enjoy geology and history. Another notable attraction is Fort Sesfontein, located just two hours away, which was built in 1896 and boasts a fascinating history.
Etosha National Park is approximately 3 hours West, making this the perfect stopover either to or from the coastal regions.
